Enrolment Process
Bethany Catholic Primary School Werribee
Enquiries about Bethany Catholic Primary School are most welcome. Enrolling your child in a school is a very important decision for your family. We have two Prep Information Sessions in the February (9:30am and 6:00pm) preceding the year of enrolment. At these sessions, the Principal and School Leaders give some general information about enrolment and the school, and follow this up with a school tour. School Tours tours also occur for families at the initial Prep Enrolment interview with the family and child. Meeting our students and staff, and seeing how they engage in learning and teaching, seeing our children and teachers in action is the best way to see if our school is the right one for your child.
PREP ENROLMENTS
Eligibility
To be eligible for enrolment in Prep, a child must have had her/his fifth birthday by April 30th in the year in which she/he commences school.
Applications for Prep are due by the end of term 1, in the year preceding enrolment. Late applications will be considered if places are available.
Family interviews will take place after an application has been received. Letters offering a position will be sent to families in June.
ENROLMENTS IN OTHER YEAR LEVELS
Enquiries regarding placements for students in other year levels can be made any time and an appointment with the Principal will be organised. Places in other year levels are dependent on availability and in accordance with our enrolment policy.

Prep Transition Program
Prep Transition begins in October of the year preceding enrolment. This includes two Pre Prep visits and an Orientation Day. These days support students to become familiar with the school environment and to know what school is all about.
Before & After School Care
Quantin Binnah Community Centre operates our Out of School Hours Program. Before School Care operates from 6:30am until 8:30am and After School Care operates from 3:00pm until 6:00pm. Places are available on a permanent or casual basis.

Children who are booked in for Before and/or After School Care will be collected by personnel from Quantin Binnah and escorted to and from school.
Uniform
The official Bethany uniform can be purchased from Noone Rushford’s Schoolwear (Shop 1/13 Barnes Place, Werribee Ph. 9741 3211).
Full uniform is to be worn at all times. This includes correct footwear. Runners are not acceptable other than with sports uniforms on designated sport day.

Hair is to be neatly groomed and appropriate to the wearing of a uniform. If it is longer than shoulder length it should be fastened back and off the face at all times.

Hair accessories are to be kept to the school colours – royal blue/ gold.

Unusual fashion modes that are not in keeping with the wearing of a school uniform are unacceptable e.g. unnatural hair colour.

Fashion jewellery or accessories of any kind are not to be worn. One watch, and a pair of plain studs or small plain sleepers (gold or silver), one in each lower lobe of the ear is permissible.

No makeup or nail polish is to be worn.

Navy blue scarf, beanie and gloves are optional during winter

Students must have a navy blue raincoat in their bag every day.

We expect all students to have a Bethany school bag.

All students will require an art smock.
